View the details of this row. The Anglo~Saxons James Campbell (ed.)
For 650 years - from the end of Roman rule to the Battle of Hastings - the Anglo~Saxons controlled England; in religion, culture and administration their legacy is still with us today.
This is a favorite subject of mine and I just put this book here to kick off the list but it is a book on a past (and some say dead) culture. There are those who believe that the Normans started everything from eradicating other cultures (Anglo-saxon, Irish, Welsh) to being the first global power as they slowly started their journey to making England the mighty Superpower it became.

View the details of this row. Behold The Pale Horse William Cooper
I mention this book because of the information Mr. Cooper includes regarding assasination of JFK, the Bush Family, and things that have taken place in the USA but covered up. The author is a former US Naval Intelligence officer who seems to back up everything he says with documents. A very fascinating read.
