Before you fire off an E-mail with your question about The Halifax Online, read through the list below of the most commonly asked questions. This list doesn't include some of the stranger questions we've been asked, like, "How do I remove wallpaper border and re-use it?" What you do find below is a sampling of the things our members have been looking for more information on. If you don't see your question asked here, go ahead and ask it. Who knows? It may make the list.
Our most-asked questions (and answers!): Question #1 Hello !!! My e- mail site is getting flooded with Halifax online posts from message board.What can I do to stop this from happening? Answer: Since the new "spring update" you have the option of having the message board deliever to your "Inbox" of your e-mail or view them on the web, which is what you are reading now. To change your E-Mail settings...You would need to sign back into our Community at this addy ... http://communities.msn.com/Halifaxonline and there are two ways you can change your settings 1). Once you are signed in to the community go to the message board, once on the message board you would need to click in the upper right hand corner where it says "email settings" and change it to "view messages on the web." This way you wont get any unwanted inbox deliveries from our community. You can also change it by going to member tools, change member profile... and view messages on the web. And, it wont take long to build up in your inbox. 2). Or once you are signed in the community go to the very top left page called... What's New scroll to the far left and look in the middle for a topic members tools and then look for a topic called My E-Mail Settings. You can then change the settings at this point also. Make sure you click on this one... ****** On the Web: I'll read them on the message board.  Question #2: Some Chat Room questions.. A) Why did my name change, and how can I change it back in the music chat rooms? B) What are the hammers for? C) What is lurking? D) How do i change my font color and size? E) How do I get out of the chat room? Answer: A) When the community sometimes uses the MSN Music chat rooms, you username will change because the chats need a unique username. Like hotmail there is only one name to a person. To change your unique username you need to click on the top left of the chat room screen and click on "Chat Home" and the second screen click on "Change My Nickname". This is only used in the MSN Music Chat room. B) The Hammers are for Managers and Authorize members only who control the content of the love Pub chat rooms. Please do not ask to be a host or for a hammer. C) Lurking is a term that we use for people/members who join the chat room and just watch. They don't speak...Kinda like a peeping Tom. If you are new to the chat rooms, let us know because after a period of time you can be kicked out. Now if you are whipsering someone or away from the computer, you need to set you "Coffee" cup to away. D) To change the color and size of your font you would need to click on the topic "Chat Room Options" at the top center of the chat room. This is only used in the MSN Music Chat room E). To leave the chat room you can "X" out in the top right corner or click on the "Exit" in the top center of the chat room.This is only used in the MSN Music Chat room. Question #3: Why was my picture, post, or profile deleted? Answer: The management of the Love Pub does not delete anything inless it is profanity, nude pictures, or double or triple of the same post. We will leave your original post or profile. MSN has had alot of strange things happening lately. Click on the MSN Trouble Page for more details. Question #4: I just joined but now I cannot find my ad nor my name there are so many members as of today. How am I supposed to find myself here it would take forever. Answer: We have three ways you can find yourself. 1). Click on the Browse the Member List and select your first letter of your name. 2). Go to a post or profile that you have lefted and click on your name. 3). To change your user name for this community "Click here" . Question #5: Is it possible to chat and look at profiles at the same time? Answer: Yes, While you are chatting, or posting it is possible to have anothr window open. Just RIGHT click on you mouse button on to a topic. Next a small box opens, the second from the top says "Open in new Window" click on that topic. Now you have 2 windows open to look, and chat at the same time. Question #6: I would like to remain part of the community but not receive the monthly or weekly emails. Is there any way I can do this with out blocking u? Answer: Without getting into alot of details, just click on here to change you daily, weekly reports from coming to you.
