What is Area 51 ?
Deep in the heart of the Nevada Desert lies one of the most top-secret military bases in the world. The Groom Lake test site, also known as " Area 51" or " Dreamland" Situated 120 miles North West of Las Vegas, Ufologists and the public have given this place the nickname "Dreamland", and its not because dreams are made there. It's officially known as Area 51, which came from its grid map reference number.
Millions of dollars have been spent on land, in the surrounding area by the U.S government, in order to conceal its location from the public. Area 51 is home to the Americans state of the art fighter aircraft technology such as the F-117, SR-17 and the latest stealth project known as the " AURORA PROJECT ", some UFO’s have been seen at Area 51 in different shapes and sizes.
One bizarre object is the triangular shaped UFO which looks like the Stealth planes that have been built by the U.S., many of these triangular shaped objects have been photographed and filmed and show amazing acrobats and stunts that no plane on Earth could do. As they have the ability to stay stationary in the sky at low altitude and at high altitude without need of any deceleration.
A common rumour concerning Area 51 is that it is a storage facility for a total of nine recovered alien spacecraft and that these are being reverse engineered in order to unlock their secrets. Although it is virtually impossible to travel within 30 miles of the site without being arrested, a few people have managed to sneak a glimpse of Area 51. There have been attempts made to sue the US Air Force over the alleged illegal dumping of toxic waste within the complex. This action was brought by a group of ex-servicemen who worked within Area 51 and have since suffered illness. The action was halted by the American President Bill Clinton in a statement proclaiming that such an action would require classified information to be revealed and would therefore cause a threat to the security of the USA.
Over the past ten years there have been numerous reports of odd activity in the night skies around Groom Lake. These range from accounts of brightly coloured flying saucers to stories of futuristic aeroplanes. Whatever the truth of the matter, the US military have made it their business to ensure that unwanted bystanders never get too close to their activities.
In October 1993, almost nine years after seizing around 89,000 acres of public land surrounding Groom Lake, the US Air Force requested that the Interior Department close the last publicly accessible sites from which the base is visible. The reason for the Air Force's sudden need for higher security has never been made public.
Stories of alien spacecraft in the hands of the U.S.military date back to 1947 when Colonel William Blanchard of Roswell Army Air Field, issued a press release stating that the Army had recovered a crashed flying saucer from the New Mexico desert. Despite later denials, the release made reporters around the world sit up and take notice.
