Sightings

Mr Kenneth Millward, a Forging Engineer in Brisbane, Australia reported his sighting to Truth Seekers Midlands. Which took place in Dudley, West Midlands (U.K) around about January 1st 1981. Mr Millward was on the crest of Wrens Hill Road, Mons Hill, near the Mons Hill School at approximately 1am with his wife Janet, when she noticed a brilliant shining ball, just like a star in the sky."My wife shouted " look " up above the trees was a brilliant shining ball, just like a star, it lit up the surrounding area. It was stationary, just hovering for a few seconds, suddenly accelerated and shot off over Upper Gornal making a sound like a sky rocket from a bottle, it left a sparkling trail which faded away as the object disappeared. It disappeared over Old Park Farm estate but kept an even distance from the ground, at times we were eye level with it".

Mr Millward reported that the object appeared to be solid and estimated the height of the object from the ground to be in between 100-200 feet. Travelling over a mile in approximately 3 seconds (1200-1500 M.P.H) from stationary. The size of the object was reported to be approximately 20-30 feet in diameter.

Paul john Grey from the Lanarkshire UFO Group contacted me back in June of 2001 with a sighting he had received from a witness.

On February 5th 1996, at around 6:35am Susan Irvine observed two circular objects about 12ft in diameter. They were silver in colour with a darker small area on the top. They hovered for about 6 minutes before spiralling up into the sky. When first seen they were only 30 feet above the ground, the objects were also seen by a housewife in another street, at right angles to the first witness, together with a further five neighbours. There were red sparks coming from the base of the object with an orange-red glow.

 The Phoenix Lights

On March 13th 1997, in between 8-11pm, a triangular, structured object was reported moving slowly overhead with it's apex forward - a black mass blocking out the stars as it passed between the viewer and the sky. More than 50 credible witnesses were interviewed, including active and retired military people. Most witnesses saw six or seven lights along the leading edge, outlining the triangle. They were unlike any aircraft landing lights and looked more like stars, as bright as Sirius. One witness, whose house is situated 500m above the Phoenix valley floor said he was able to look into one of these lights as the object passed overhead. Two red lights were observed on the trailing edge of the triangle, some witnesses saw no lights at all, only the triangle. To others it seemed to have grey panels on the underside.

It appeared to be three to four times the size of a Boeing 747. One witness thought it was translucent, because on passing over the moon, the moon appeared yellow. He and another witness independently reported a distortion field around the object. As if it seemed to ripple like waves travelling through water. The lights seemed loosely associated with the triangular object, sometimes moving toward or away from eachother, and were observed to detach, fly off and return to it's position. As the triangle moved, the lights would grow dimmer and disappear sequentially, as if gradually obscured by it. The triangle generally travelled at blimp speed, but sometimes accelerated or slowed to hover. Witnesses estimated the object to be only 600-1500 meters above them, and some which saw it in front of the local mountains. One woman reported a faint sound, which she said, was distinct from that of an aircraft engine. The UFO generally moved from north to south through Arizona but occasionally was observed to change direction. Reports came in from Chandler, Dewey, Central Phoenix, Prescott and Tucson, and various witnesses appeared on local and national TV. A truck driver, willing to take a lie-detector test, swears he saw jets scrambled from Luke Air Force Base, during the event, to intercept two orange lights with a pulsating red ring. He said, "one of them shot straight up as the jets approached". Luke Public Information Office denied having any base activity after 7pm, and denied receiving any telephone inquiries.

Just after 9pm on the 14th November 1997 a group of lights of unknown origin flew west over Seattle and were witnessed by thousands. The objects were described by one witness as " sparks coming out of a roman candle." Art Bell reported the incident soon after it occurred, and by its description it is widely believed that this is possibly a meteor shower or space debris returning to Earth

On December 20, 1997 at 5:15 AM an L.A. Police Officer travelling to work on the 10 freeway near Montclair observed what he thought was a brush fire and a beam of light in the San Dimas hills. He immediately called 911 to report the incident, but there was no fire in the area. He then observed the "fire" change to an ice cream cone shaft of light and disappear from sight. In subsequent conversations he related encounters in his youth on a farm in Mexico.

On January 21, 1998 the same L.A. Police Officer reported that his friend living in Highland Park, about ¼ mile from the Pasadena freeway had observed an object at treetop height at the end of his street. Directly in front of him were a mother and daughter screaming in total fright and shock. The observer's first thought was that the flashing lights were emergency vehicles, but soon realised that the lights were hovering and then slowly moved out of sight behind the trees. Upon questioning the mother and daughter, it was learned that the object was directly over them and their screams apparently diverted contact. There was another witness on the street to confirm the incident. The woman and daughter refused to discuss the incident any further.

On May 16th 1998 a huge, dark, disc-shaped UFO visited Chile's biggest dam at Lago de Colbun in southern Chile. There were over 30 witnesses to the event, who described the UFO as a gigantic disc,"dark with a big orange light on the bottom and small lights that moved around on the outer part of the object." The UFO hovered at 1,000 metres above the ground, remaining in view for some 20 minutes before flying across the lake and into the Andes. The object was apparently "so big that it seemed to cover the whole valley."

On May 30th 1998 a luminous white ball was spotted by several witnesses, crossing the sky over Alessandria, a city in Northern Italy. The ball, bigger than the full moon and followed by a short trail of the same white colour " seemed to enter vertically " into the crowds field of vision " before disappearing in one or two bright and dazzling flashes." One witness also heard a deafening boom at more or less the same time.

On June 14th 1998 a father and his son saw two lights travelling at a steady speed across a clear sky in Texas, USA, which seemed to cross each other at one point. A valley close by was lit up from the ground for about five seconds with a blue coloured light. A scream was heard coming from the woods to the south-west, and then some five seconds later from the south-east. The screams have been described as being " not human."

On June 20th 1998 two skywatchers were startled when they spotted a squadron of V- shaped UFO's. They reported "an L- shaped formation that seemed to be made up of about five different V- shaped objects. It could have been a flock of birds except for the fact of the speed they were travelling at. It traversed the sky in about four seconds." Each V-shaped object was apparently " a kind of opaque, grey, translucent almost " in appearance.

Also on June 20th 1998 two young girls saw two UFO's in the sky over their hometown in Indiana USA, just after midnight. The first object was " star-like " in appearance, moving gradually in a southern direction before making a sharp turn upward and to the north. The second sighting consisted of three star-like objects, moving faster than the first UFO in a westerly direction. The girls are said to know " quite clearly what an aeroplane looks like, both in daytime and night conditions."

. On Monday night, February 22, 1999, witnesses sighted luminous UFO's or " mysterious lights " to the south and west of Leeds, a large city 160 miles (256 kilometres) north of London. According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, " Costas Lambropoulos, a computer consultant of Cromwell Rise, Kippax, could see them on the horizon as he drove up the (motorway) A-1, near Wetherby at about 8pm." He had first seen them 90 minutes earlier and estimated that they were over the Southwest of Leeds. "They looked like stars", he said, "They were very bright early on but later dimmed a little."

Mrs Val Walker, of Leysholme Terrace, Upper Wortley, Leeds, said she and several neighbours noticed them for some time. " We get the police helicopter over here a bit," she said, " But there was no light shining down from this object, and there was no sound. They looked like huge stars." Her neighbour, Paul Carey, also of Leysholme Terrace, said, " They would have been noticed by hundreds of Leeds residents. They were west of Leeds and suspended unevenly one above the other. They were very bright and lower in the sky than aircraft. They seemed to move along very slowly."

Mr Arthur Jenkinson, 59, retired, of Winrose Avenue, Middleton, South Leeds, watched the lights through his binoculars and concluded they were over Pudsey. He said " I saw something like this back in 1964, and I was told then that it was two planets that were nearly in conjunction."

(See the Yorkshire Evening Post for February 23rd 1999, " Lights in the sky speed UFO calls" by Howard Williamson.)

On April 9th 2000 A Network Development Manager had a sighting of a UFO that shot vertically towards space,at 11:45 PM in his back garden. I positively saw an unidentified flying object, which was in my opinion, definitely not a conventional aircraft. The event took place in less than a minute on a perfectly clear night. The crescent moon allowed me to see the edges of the entire moon. After seeing the Northern Lights earlier last week, 1 popped out into my garden to see if the event would be repeated. I saw a bright star-like flash. Thirty seconds later it flashed again in the same position. I looked directly above towards the edge of my roof and saw a large V shaped object `gliding' in a Northwest direction. The craft made no noise, and for the want of a better word, it manoeuvred more fluidly than any aircraft I have ever seen. The back of the "V" had vents with glowing red and orange lights. These were on both lengths of the "V" and may have been engines of some kind. There was a haze close to the lights causing distortion like you see on a road on a hot day. The object then smoothly stopped and turned north without banking. It turned to face my direction, so that all I could see was a rectangular outline with three white dots (one at each end and one in the middle). The lights then flashed very brightly and the object turned, pointed upwards and shot directly up in the air showing only its red vents at the back before disappearing. I was a member of the Territorial Army and was trained to identify military and civilian aircraft.

On the 22nd April 2000 At approximately 9.50pm on 22nd April, Karen Edwards a member of the UFORM Skywatch Team, was on Hartlebury common near Stourport, looking straight up at the skies, when she saw a light as bright as a planet start to move, slowly at first, and then really quickly. She brought it to the attention of several colleagues. She said, "The object was moving in a south easterly direction, in a straight line", "Charles and I saw a smaller bright light, detach itself from the main light", "This small light, turned in a semi circle and zoomed off in an easterly direction."

She continued, "The main object continued moving at speed, it went behind the cloud but could still be seen because it was so bright".

The object then disappeared behind dense cloud and did not re-appear. The whole sighting had lasted about ten seconds.

On December 31st 2000, On a Sunday night, Mr Allan Ferguson was outdoors in his hometown of Capitol, California (population 17,000) when he spotted a triangle-shaped UFO.
""I saw it approaching from the north," Allan reported, "It was a flying V shape with lights on the edges. It was very high. It seemed to be among the stars. The thing suddenly took off to the south at lightning speed. The object was very high and extremely fast."
