USA Sightings Pt A

New Mexico Interstate 40

Between State Rt.3 Exit and Tucumcari

Approx. Time: 4:45-5:15am MDT,

Date: Saturday, 22 May 1993

Jack Myers, an architect, was driving to Oklahoma with his girlfriend and
noticed a very bright light ahead of him to the north-east. At first it appeared
fixed on top of a mountain. Myers did not believe it was Venus, prominent in the
east at dawn, because this object moved about as much as 45 degrees to the right
and 5 degrees to the left. Myers observed a blue haze around the object but the
colour appeared green to his girlfriend. At times it seemed bell-shaped or with
a dome. Its maximum subtended angular size during the 30 minute sighting was
approximately that of an aspirin tablet at arms length. Myers eventually pulled
over and stopped the car, where he and his passenger watched for about 10
minutes. The object finally moved up to the right and out of sight.

The sky was clear except for one cloud, which hid the object intermittently;
it appeared that the UFO deliberately flew rapidly into and out of this cloud
several times during the sighting.

While stopped to observe the UFO, Myers noted a van pulling a load and
subsequently saw that it had been driven off the road at a 90-degree angle and
apparently abandoned. Myers rejected the suggestion of hallucination /
misinterpretations from driver fatigue and explained he prefers night driving on
long trips.

The section of Interstate 40 traversed during the sighting is a sequence of
straight stretches; explaining the reported lateral movement of the UFO as
apparent motion, due to observation from a meandering road, is not
appropriate.

Rt. 113 and Gore Orphanage Rd

Lorraine County, Ohio, USA

Approx. Time: 10:30pm EDT,

Date: Sunday, 25 September 1988

Mr Stanley R Decker, a furloughed welder, was travelling on unpaved Rt. 113
when his car stalled. He knew he was over due for a new battery but was
surprised to see two other cars also stalled, on the other side of the road. He
got out of his vehicle and joined the other four people, whom he had never seen
before. " It was a clear night with stars, but this wasn't a spot to be out
alone at night walking on the road." He noticed one of the other cars stalled
was a new Ford Escort. The five witnesses talked for a few minutes before they
realised there were lights nearby in the woods. Lights which appeared to be on a
triangular, silvery object- red and yellow ones on the sides, with a big red one
on the bottom. " It was so close I could have spat at it." Decker said he
thought there was no wind at ground level.

The object seemed to have a structure like an I-beam around the periphery and
it appeared more round toward the bottom. They watched it for 15-20 minutes. It
wobbled occasionally and finally rose at an angle and went toward a nearby
camping area, going out of sight behind the trees.

While passing overhead, it moved very slowly. The rounded bottom was then
more visible but they could still see flat spots on the sides, " Where its wings
came to a point at the corners." It appeared wider than the road and there was
no sound. There were no lights on the back of the object as it moved overhead
and forward. " The red light on the bottom now seemed more like a hole in the
undersurface, filled with white light and resembling a fluorescent lamp".

Decker said the other witnesses got back into their cars and wouldn't talk to
him about what had just happened. He had felt numb while they were watching, and
afterwards had the impression that he " Wasn't supposed to say anything about
it." He is not sure what he had been doing immediately before the event and for
how long he sat there in his car afterward; the possibility that an abduction
event may have occurred disturbs him.

Looking for explanations and other witnesses, he telephoned the local weather
service and radio station WOBL. His brother-in-law serves in the K-9 section of
the local police department but was not a sympathetic listener. He is careful in
choosing those whom he tells of the incident.

Decker believes an airborne object he saw on December 29, over three months
later, is similar if not identical. He was returning home with his wife, between
6:30 and 7:00pm, after eating pizza. It appeared bigger than a passenger jet
would be at the same distance and was darker than the sky. Fewer lights were
visible than in the earlier sighting near the woods. "The object stopped
suddenly three times, changing direction, before finally darting out of
sight.

Mr Decker has since read in a book of a similar case and is anxious to find
out other, corroborating witnesses.

46 Raynor Avenue

North Middletown, NJ 07734, USA

Approx. Time: 7:45pm-8: 00pm EST

Date: Wednesday 27 February 1991

Three 10 year old boys were playing basketball outside Jill Pianelli`s house
when one of them heard a strange buzzing sound. They then saw a white flash and
noticed an object approaching from the west, from behind trees beyond a large,
open field. The object appeared rectangular, with rounded corners, and was
moving fast. Blue and white lights were observed spinning around the middle, and
also two red, blinking, fixed lights. It slowed down as it passed over the
Pianelli`s house, stopping just beyond and backing up slightly. At this point,
it appeared to be no more than 30 meters above the ground and hovered there for
about 10 seconds, with a slightly bluish glow.

When asked what he would hold at arms length to just cover the object, Peter
Pianelli said (after this question was carefully explained to him): " Nothing I
could have held in my hand would have been big enough to cover the object!".
Peter also said " We just stood there and went into shock." The object then
accelerated quickly to high speed, becoming noisier and turning white. It seemed
to disappear in a flash as it headed east, towards the ocean.

The other two boys are Johnny DePierro (not interviewed) and Anthony LaRusso.
Another witness in the same age group is Tara van Brunt, who lives a block away
and observed the white flash from her house, and also the object. Anthony felt
the initial sound was more like that of a jet aircraft. Both Anthony and Peter
mentioned the loud noise as the object accelerated away but were unable to
describe it verbally. " It was definitely not a helicopter ".

Mrs. Pianelli was indoors and did not see the object. She said the boys were
very frightened by their experience and that she had promised them she would
report the sighting. She called the nearby Earle Naval Base, at Ft. Monmouth, NJ
and was told it was not aware of any strange aircraft in the vicinity. Weather
at the time was clear, about 1-degree Celsius.

 Smithfield, North Carolina, USA

Approx. Time: 7:30pm

 Date: Wednesday 13 November 2002

On Wednesday 13th of November 2002 at about 7:30pm, two faintly
luminous saucers hovering over her property were spotted by a female witness in
Smithfield, North Carolina, some 20 miles south of Raleigh. " It was in my
back-yard," she said. " I had got up off my bed because I saw some lights in the
sky. I thought they belonged to an aeroplane, but I saw two disk-shaped objects
hovering in my back yard. They had different coloured lights wrapped around
them, green, yellow, red, white and pink. They stayed there awhile and then they
went slowly to the right at eye level. They were going really slow, then picked
up speed and were gone."

Watkins Glen, New York, USA

Schuyler County

Approx. Time: 6:00pm

Date: Friday 18 June 1999

At 6:00pm. A woman and her eldest daughter were in the backyard practising
softball when they sighted what they at first thought was a hot-air balloon.
They watched it thinking maybe it will fly over them. But as they watched they
noticed that it was actually moving away from them in an Easterly direction. The
mother described it as being the size of a pea at arms length and looking like a
disco ball. The weather was totally clear and they could see its outline very
well. It glinted in the setting sun as if spinning " just like a disco ball ".
It was silver in colour. The sighting lasted about 4 to 5 minutes. The object
did a 90-degree turn to the North and accelerated out of sight in about one
second.

Watkins Glen, New York, USA

Schuyler County

Approx. Time: 6:00pm

Date: Friday 18 June 1999

At the same time as the previous sighting report, another group of witnesses
saw a similar object. At least six witnesses, saw a similar disco ball object,
while swimming at the Watkins Glen State swimming pool. It was seemingly higher
and about the size of a BB at arms length. The object was elevating and heading
East. The sky was clear and glinting was the same. The object was silver in
colour. The sighting lasted for about 3 minutes. As the other one, the object
did a 90 degree turn Northward and accelerated so fast that the witness reported
only being able to follow it for about " half an inch " until it was going
faster than she could move her eyes and head.

At 9:50pm. A scintillating oval object was seen rising over the treelines at
the Southend of Saratoga Lake. It moved left, right, and hovered before
descending below the treelines only to pop up several seconds later. It then

Approx. Time: 8:45pm

Date: April 8 1999

At 8:45pm on April 8 1999, a witness saw an object of enormous size. It was
flying very low and from inside his car appeared to be almost hovering over the
treetops motionless. The witness saw it first through the left window and when
turning the car it took up almost the entire length of the windshield and was
moving very slowly in a westerly direction. It was dark in colour almost
blackish with brilliant white lights covering the extreme tips of each end.
There were no other lights but the object seemed to be glowing. It appeared to
be triangular and flat on top. There was no sound coming from the object.
